The Company, a brief history

Mr. J.C. Walwyn, the Founder of our Company was associated with the Funeral Directing Profession in the 1920's. A local funeral director employed him for many years. In 1947 he started his own Funeral Directing Business in Ashbourne, a profession he proudly continued into the 1980s. At first the Funeral Business was slow to develop and he began to manufacture and supply Coffin Sets to Funeral Directors in the neighboring towns.

With a policy of investment and development the Company has moved on to be one of the countries leading Independent Coffin Manufacturers offering an unrivalled service, honest pricing, and a comprehensive range of quality products supplied throughout the United Kingdom.The company acquired the status of a private limited company in 1985 still retaining full family control, which now includes three of the founder's grandchildren.

With the commissioning of a second factory unit in 1996 to house a state of the art veneering line and with the addition of CNC machinery to improve accuracy in production the company is looking forward to continued success.
