J C Walwyn & Sons wins Coffin Supplier of the Year 2026

We are proud to share that J C Walwyn & Sons has been named Coffin Supplier of the Year at the 2026 AGFD Good Funeral Awards.

As a family-owned coffin and casket manufacturer based in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, this recognition means a great deal to us. What makes it especially meaningful is that so many of our customers took the time to nominate us.

Pete Conway and Kian Walwyn attended the awards ceremony in Reading, accepting the award on behalf of everyone at J C Walwyn & Sons.

A family business rooted in Ashbourne since 1947

Founded by John Charles Walwyn in 1947, J C Walwyn & Sons has grown from a local family enterprise into an independent coffin and casket manufacturer serving funeral directors across England and Wales.

Throughout that growth, we have maintained our family ownership and close connections with Ashbourne. Today, fourth-generation members of the Walwyn family work within the business, continuing a tradition that began almost eight decades ago.

Having celebrated our 75th anniversary in 2022, we are delighted to add this award to our company’s history.

An award for the whole team

Our business provides employment for many local people, and their skills and commitment are central to everything we do.
