J C Walwyn’s Commitment to Community: Sponsoring and Supporting Clifton Cricket Club

We believe in actively supporting our local community, which is why we have proudly sponsored Clifton Cricket Club for several years. In this blog, we’ll take a closer look at our involvement with the club, the teams they field, and the passion that drives us to support their endeavours.

Sustaining the Club’s Legacy:
Back in 2018, Steve Walwyn had the honour of becoming the Captain of Clifton Cricket Club’s 3Xl team when it was resurrected. Since then, he has continued to lead the team through triumphs and challenges. Clifton CC, based in Derbyshire, is a bustling hub of cricketing activity. With teams spanning multiple divisions in the Derbyshire County Cricket League, including senior teams in Division 1, Division 6, and Division 9, a Friendly Team on Sundays, and Ladies’ Hardball & Softball teams, there is never a dull moment.

Nurturing the Next Generation:
One aspect that truly resonates with us is Clifton CC’s unwavering commitment to junior development. They have a thriving Junior section, catering to ages 5-11 through the All Stars & Dynamos programs, as well as U11, U13, U15, U17, and U19 Junior teams. As a Clubmark accredited club, Clifton CC ensures that young cricketers receive proper guidance and support to nurture their skills and foster a love for the game.

Supporting Beyond the Field:
Beyond Steve’s role as the 3Xl team’s captain, he actively contributes to Clifton CC’s operations. Sitting on the Committee as Vice Chair, Fixtures Secretary, and Sponsorship Manager being fully committed to helping the club thrive. It’s a juggling act, but one that he gladly embraces as it allows him to contribute to the club’s success in various capacities.

A Family Affair:
It brings us great joy that both Kian and Declan Walwyn are actively involved in Clifton CC. Kian represents the 1st team, showcasing his skills at a competitive level, while Declan joins Steve in the 3rd team. Our involvement at the club creates meaningful connections, shared experiences, and memories that will last a lifetime.
